• Damage to the seal. The sealer works effectively as long as it retains its elasticity. And in order for the sealing circuit to retain its elasticity for 15 years or longer, it needs to be periodically lubricated — preferably at least once every 2 years. If this is not done, after about 5 years, the condition of the seal will be incompatible with effective use and replacement will be required.
• Hardware failure. The main reason is breakdowns due to work without cleaning and lubrication. Cleaning allows you to remove dust and dirt that interfere with the normal movement of parts. Lubrication is needed both to facilitate work and to protect against corrosion. Of course, fittings rarely rust to the point of complete loss of strength, but the combination of "rust dust force when opening or closing" is quite capable of leading to serious damage.

Advice! To lubricate the seal and fittings, you need to use special compounds. The use of inappropriate lubricants can aggravate the situation. In addition, when the fittings are lubricated, they must be cleaned — otherwise the mixture of oil and dust will completely block the operation of the mechanism.

Also, do not forget about accidental breakdowns. For example, there is a risk of breaking the handle when excessive force is applied — if the hardware is jammed or the sash opening lock is triggered.
